- Any LED colour, and the logo LED on or off
- The Handbrake button as a normal button while the switch is in H
- The High/low button as a toggle, if you like
- A neutral button, for games that stay in gear when you move the lever to neutral
- On Linux, games find the shifter as a joystick with no extra driver
- The Turtle Beach firmware can be put back at any time
You need any Chromium based browser (Chrome, Edge, Opera...) on a computer.
- Open the web tool and connect the shifter.
- Install OpenShifter from the Firmware tab. This erases your calibration.
- Calibrate in the Calibration tab.
Firmware that is not from Turtle Beach may void the shifter's warranty. OpenShifter comes with no warranty: you install it at your own risk.
Step by step: Install · From a terminal: Command line · Problems: Troubleshooting
Using Firefox or a browser built on it (Zen, LibreWolf...)
Firefox cannot reach USB devices by itself. The third-party add-on WebHID for Firefox adds this, with a helper program that runs on your computer. Setup: Firefox.
- Use it for settings and calibration only. Firmware updates do not work in Firefox: install firmware with Chrome, Edge or Opera.
- Changing a setting shows an error in Firefox. This is normal and the setting still changes.
- On Linux and macOS, any website can use the helper while it runs. Start it only while you use the web tool.

OpenShifter is not made or endorsed by Turtle Beach. Turtle Beach and VelocityOne are trademarks of Turtle Beach Corporation, used here only to name the shifter this firmware runs on. This repository and the web tool contain no Turtle Beach firmware or software: to go back to stock you use the image that comes with VelocityOne Tuner.
