Summary

The host backend observes host-wide process and network state. Background OS services can start processes or open sockets during a test, making smoke tests fail even when the task itself only runs a simple command or writes one fixture file.

This change isolates those host-global observations in two host-backend smoke tests:

  • test_harness_sandbox_clean_run
  • test_cli_audit_run

The security behaviors remain covered separately by deterministic tests, including explicit ghost-process detection and a synthetic outbound-socket violation.

Validation

  • Ruff check and format: passed
  • mypy: passed
  • Unit-test matrix: passed
  • Linux/Docker integration tests: passed
  • Coverage gate: passed
