While a selection lasts, every breadcrumb link is now cut with its own ellipsis (overflow hidden, text-overflow ellipsis, nowrap); earlier crumbs shrink first (flex-shrink 100), separators never shrink, and the current crumb keeps min-width 8rem, so no crumb's text runs into the '/' or the title. A new Playwright test in de-du at 1280x800 asserts that each crumb fits or is ellipsised, that the current crumb keeps 8rem and that crumb and separator boxes don't overlap; DESIGN.md and DECISIONS.md record the shrink order.
