docs: dev container profile guide (spec 026 PR-D) - #813
Spec 026 PR-D: docs for the modular dev containers, after #809.
T030docs/contributing.md: new "Dev container profiles" section with a table of all 11 profiles (size, scope, what it installs, CI setup time on amd64 and arm64, when to use it), how to pick a profile in VS Code, Codespaces and the CLI, how to add a component or change a version (make devcontainers), and what a need: message means.
T032AGENTS.md (CLAUDE.md is a symlink to it): .devcontainer/ added to the repository map, plus a "Dev containers" commands line (make devcontainers, make check-devcontainers).
T035quickstart.md: a "Results" section with the CI evidence for §1–§7. The interactive steps (VS Code walk-through, dashboard login, new-reader test) and the disk numbers are still open, so T035 stays unchecked.
Added a guide to dev container profiles, including their scopes, included tools, setup times, use cases, and selection in VS Code, Codespaces, or the CLI.
Documented profile updates, generated-file ownership, CI drift checks, and how to handle a missing tool.
Clarified that the full profile includes the operator and agent alongside the local Kubernetes cluster.
Added quickstart validation results, including build measurements, size-target status, and interactive steps that were not performed.
Updated project progress records and documented commands for regenerating and checking profiles.

80-80: 🎯 Functional Correctness
The setup path prints ready.txt.
Each generated profile invokes .devcontainer/setup.sh through postCreateCommand. The setup contract requires that script to finish with cat "$READY", so the guide's statement is supported.
88-95: 🎯 Functional Correctness
The need: workflow is implemented. Make targets call hack/need.sh, which reports the missing tool, names a profile that provides it, and exits before the target runs. The review concern is refuted.
…parity expectation
Address CodeRabbit review on #813: AGENTS.md and docs/contributing.md now list
.devcontainer/devcontainer-lock.json as an input of hack/gen-devcontainers.py,
and quickstart §4 expects the generated name difference from T006.

…se T035
FR-002 now says the dashboard + API part includes the operator and agent
that its local cluster runs, matching contracts/profiles-catalogue.md
(CodeRabbit review on #813; valgul approved the amendment). T035 is marked
done on CI evidence; the interactive quickstart steps were not run.

Sync the profile catalogue with generated profiles.
The catalogue omits i18n and telemetryschema from go-services, and omits PyYAML, oras, and modules initialization from the part profiles. It also says that full includes everything, although the generated configuration intentionally excludes the website-only port 4321 and Astro extension. Contributors can therefore choose a profile with incorrect scope or setup expectations.

Minor · Mark T035 incomplete, not complete. · tasks.md:151-152
T035 requires results for quickstart §1–§7, including interactive steps, setup times, disk measurements, and pass/fail status. The recorded results state that the interactive steps and disk measurements were not run. They also report that some component setup times exceed Spec 026’s SC-001 target. Change T035 from [X] to [ ], or split the recorded CI evidence from the remaining validation work. The current [X] misstates the Spec 026 completion status and can make the task-completion gate appear satisfied without the required evidence.

The interactive steps in §1–§3 and §7 and the disk numbers were not run; valgul accepted the CI evidence on 2026-10-29 and chose to archive without them.+- [ ] T035 Run quickstart §1–§7 against the merged state and record the results (times, disk, pass/fail) in `specs/026-modular-dev-containers/quickstart.md` under a "Results" heading. On the two outside-diff comments from the last CodeRabbit review:
Profile table (docs/contributing.md 64-70): fixed in 03bc8fa. go-services now says it builds its Go libraries (i18n and telemetryschema come in that way). dashboard-api and control-plane list Python with PyYAML, oras and the modules submodule. full says it leaves out the website's Astro port 4321 and extension.
T035 marked [X] (tasks.md 151-152): not changing this. The maintainer decided to accept the CI evidence and archive the spec without the interactive steps or disk numbers. The T035 line and the quickstart Results table both say what was not run, and §5 records which profiles miss the setup-time target.
