- Line 7: Update the changelog sentence about the npm package and Action to
limit --use-openssl-ca guidance to supported Linux runtimes. Add the appropriate
macOS mitigation or explicitly state that caller-controlled runtimes are not
fixed by this release, while preserving the Docker image guidance.
Review comments at @Dockerfile:
- Line 12: Update the Dockerfile CA bundle installation to use apk add with a
minimum version constraint of 20261020-r0 for ca-certificates-bundle, replacing
the unrestricted upgrade command.

Both findings are fixed in 0533679: the Dockerfile requires ca-certificates-bundle>=20261020-r0, and the changelog says the npm package and the Action are unchanged. Re-review was rate limited.
Eight eMudhra (emSign) intermediate CAs had recoverable private keys, so anyone can mint a certificate for any domain that chains to roots Node still trusts. They were revoked on 2026-10-18, but Node does not check revocation and ships no fix: its built-in roots accept those chains on every current release. So the Docker image would accept a forged api.github.com or Ghost certificate, and send the Ghost Admin key to it.
The fix, in the runtime stage of the image:
ca-certificates-bundleto 20261020-r0, which removes the eight intermediates;NODE_OPTIONS=--use-openssl-ca, so it verifies against that system bundle instead of its own roots.Version goes to 0.4.1; after merge the
v0.4.1tag runs the release. The npm package and the composite Action are not changed: they run on the caller's Node and the caller's CA store, which this repo does not control.Summary by CodeRabbit
