Release commit for 4.3.2: carries the block-response text/plain Content-Type fix (#25, previously merged to master after the 4.3.1 cut) and raises the guard-core floor to >=4.1.0, tracking the guard-core 4.1.0 engine (exempt_ips skip-list, recon leading-separator gate, raw-view recon scan, cross-engine interop harness). Version bump, changelog, release notes, mike/versions.json and the example image tag.

Thanks for opening your first pull request on flaskapi-guard!

Quick checklist before review (most of these are enforced by CI, but worth a glance):

  • make lint — ruff format, ruff check, mypy, and vulture
  • make test (or make local-test) — full test suite passes with 100% coverage
  • make security — bandit, safety, and pip-audit all clean
  • make quality — radon and xenon complexity thresholds respected
  • No # noqa / # type: ignore shortcuts; pre-existing violations in touched files are fixed
  • Added an entry under ## Unreleased in CHANGELOG.md
  • If you touched a public API, updated the relevant page under docs/
  • If the change involves engine logic, the corresponding fix landed in guard-core first

See CONTRIBUTING.md for the full workflow and the Code of Conduct for the community standards we follow.

Welcome aboard — a maintainer will review shortly.

The release notes should describe the earlier responses as labeled HTML rather than implying they had no content type. This is a small documentation correction; the release is otherwise mergeable with owner awareness.

Before / after behavior

  • observed — Modified behavior in CHANGELOG.md: Added the v4.3.2 release notes: blocked responses now explicitly declare Content-Type: text/plain; the guard-core minimum version is raised from >=4.0.0 to >=4.1.0 with no upper bound. The entry also records that the adapter delegates security behavior to the engine and that its sync API shape is unchanged.
  • observed — Modified behavior in docs/index.md: The specific-version Docker pull command now references image tag v4.3.2 instead of v4.3.1.
  • observed — Modified behavior in docs/release-notes.md: Adds the v4.3.2 release heading and notes documenting the explicit plain-text content type for blocked responses and the guard-core floor increase to >=4.1.0 with no upper bound; the notes also state that the adapter’s sync API shape is unchanged.
  • observed — Modified behavior in docs/versions/versions.json: Adds the 4.3.2 version entry and points latest to 4.3.2 instead of 4.3.1.

Block response Content-Type, guard-core 4.1.0 tracking (v4.3.2)
---------------------------------------------------------------

- **Fixed** - Blocked responses now declare `Content-Type: text/plain` (#25): the Flask response factory left Flask's default mimetype in place, so middleware-generated 403/429/400 pages went out without an explicit content type and clients were left guessing. The factory now passes `mimetype="text/plain"`, matching the engine's reference response factory and the fastapi-guard fix (#144).

Describe Flask’s previous Content-Type accurately.

Before PR #25, FlaskResponseFactory called Response(content, status=status_code) without a mimetype. Flask therefore labeled these bodies text/html, not as having no content type. Update both release entries to describe the previous type as text/html instead of saying that clients were left guessing.

Suggested changelog fix
- the Flask response factory left Flask's default mimetype in place, so middleware-generated 403/429/400 pages went out without an explicit content type and clients were left guessing.
+ the Flask response factory left Flask's default mimetype (`text/html`) in place, so middleware-generated 403/429/400 pages were labeled `text/html` instead of `text/plain`.

Apply this change in CHANGELOG.md and docs/release-notes.md.
