Decision: keep The base Bedrock page did not cover regional model discovery or invocation validation. Datadog's research and AWS documentation support the retained workflow and error distinctions. The reported preservation error is repaired: all three submitted code blocks remain verbatim. Head: |

Beyond Valid Credentials: How Exposed AWS Keys Are Tested for Amazon Bedrock Access
Blog high summary
Classification, credential value, and impact. This post describes credential-abuse techniques and validation tooling rather than a CVE in Amazon Bedrock or a vulnerable Bedrock component. Attackers do not only check whether exposed AWS credentials are active; they measure the capabilities attached to each identity and use that information to prioritize credentials for resale, proxy services, token-jacking, LLMjacking, promotional-credit consumption, or…
Cloud-credential capability scoring: Treat an exposed AWS key pair as a capability-discovery target rather than only testing whether it is active. Sign an STS GetCallerIdentity request with SigV4, optionally through a proxy, to recover the AWS account, principal ARN, and user ID. Then test high-value services separately because a generally valid AWS identity may not have Bedrock permissions.
