Thanks, glad you're excited! 🎶 Word-by-word animated lyrics are landing in v1.8.0, which I'm targeting for around the end of next week (no hard promise, I'd rather ship it right). I'll post here the moment it's out! 🙌

I’m hoping to have the 1.8.0 beta available sometime this week. Most of the big pieces are already in place, and I’m currently working through the remaining fixes and polishing things up.

I don’t want to promise an exact day just in case a last-minute blocker shows up, but if everything keeps going smoothly, you shouldn’t have to wait much longer 👀🎶

I tried the beta, and it works completely fine for me. The Opus support has now been added, and it’s only been a month since I requested it. It’s really nice to see a developer who genuinely listens to user feedback and actually implements requested features so quickly. The other aspects have been improved as well. Really appreciate the effort!

Good question! The Apple Lyrics plugin signs in with your own Apple Music account (the media-user-token from music.apple.com), and as far as we know Apple only serves lyrics to accounts with an active Apple Music subscription.

A free Apple ID can sign in but doesn't get catalog access. We've only tested it with a subscribed account, so if you try it without one, let us know what happens!
