unpause black screen native renderer

[kite1234567]

gpu : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090
cpu : AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D
if i have the renderer on at the recommended resolution of 2x it unpauses to a permanent black screen after closing the pause menu

[kite1234567]

tested with multiple settings with no 60fps with 1x resolution and vise versa and no matter what having native renderer causes the unpause black screen

I have a similar issue except that the screen is solid black from the moment I launch the game.
I tried using different resolutions, to no avail. The xenia render still works fine though.

Here's a log from a boot where I managed to blindly load up a save.

Thanks both, and sorry for the trouble.

@Dominus41 your log showed the cause: the native renderer's shader file (native\dp_native_shaders.bin) was missing. The launcher's Update button never copied that folder, so anyone who updated through the launcher got a black screen with the native renderer, or kept an old version of that file.

2.0.2 fixes it: https://github.com/LittleBitUA/DPRecomp/releases/tag/v2.0.2. Updating from the launcher is enough, or unzip the release over your install. If the file is ever missing again, the game falls back to the emulated renderer instead of a black screen.

@kite1234567 could you try 2.0.2? If the black screen after closing the pause menu is still there, please attach the newest log from the logs folder next to the game.

Also new in 2.0.2: if the graphics card stops responding, the game now says so and closes, and the log records what the GPU was doing. If that happens to you, please attach that log here.

this time it completely closed and gave me a warning and told me to post

and this time it worked for one unpause, then it crashed the second time i tried to unpause

[LittleBitUA]

@kite1234567 thanks for the two logs. The crash when unpausing was a native renderer bug: when the pause menu closes the game frees some of its data, and the renderer could throw away its copy on the graphics card while the last frame was still being drawn with it. 2.0.3 fixes it: https://github.com/LittleBitUA/DPRecomp/releases/tag/v2.0.3 (the launcher's Update button is enough). If it still happens on 2.0.3, please attach the newest log again.

3 new crash logs

[kite1234567]

how embarrassing those logs were still on 2.0.2
sorry for the waste of time it seems fine so far but i swore it was on 203 the first time it crashed cause i opened and closed it like 5 times and it didnt crash, i updated manually and things seem fine right now

[LittleBitUA]

No worries, and thanks for checking. Those three logs are from 2.0.2 and show exactly the crash 2.0.3 fixes, so they still helped confirm it. If the "GPU lost" message ever shows up on 2.0.3, please post that log here.
