📝 WalkthroughWalkthroughAdopted OpenFGA models now reconcile keyed and whole-shape facts against Postgres during boot. Reconciliation determines differences before writing and returns added and removed counts. Tests cover added and removed facts, and deployment documentation describes restore behavior. 🟡 Minor · Chapter 20 contradicts itself about the boot reconcile. · 20-deployment.md:27

📐 Maintainability & Code Quality | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick winChapter 20 contradicts itself about the boot reconcile.
Line 56 now states the whole-store reconcile is built (R70, 2026-10-06). Two unchanged lines still state the old behavior:
- Line 27 says an adopted model "reconciles only its whole-shape regions".
- Line 66 says "Decided (R70), not built" for the same behavior.
Update both lines. Make line 27 say an installed model reconciles the whole store. Remove line 66, or mark it Built (R70). The header at line 43, "Built defective for authorization, whose fix is Decided (R70), not built", also needs a check against the new status.
As per path instructions for
**/*.md: the chapter must keep one consistent account of what is built. Also applies to: 66-66

Check the nearby authorization header against the updated status and revise it only if it contradicts the established account.Source: Path instructions

@coderabbitai Chapter 20 now gives one account. The OpenFGA row says an installed model reconciles the whole store against Postgres, the restore heading reads "Built for rows, logins, authorization and the chunk store" and cites |

The new test asserts reconciliation errors for unreadable facts and an unknown store. It does not call the builder, but the adopted startup path propagates those errors with I verified the source. I did not run the tests. If you found this review helpful, would you consider giving us a shout-out on X? Thank you for using CodeRabbit! You are interacting with an AI system. |

A server booting on rules already installed only reconciled the whole-shape regions of the OpenFGA store, so a store restored to another point than Postgres kept answering for owner and membership facts the database no longer holds and missed the ones it gained. This builds R70 decision 6. Every adopted boot now hands subql's
OpenFgaPolicy::reconcile_store(subql #139, already in the pin) every keyed fact and every group replay, and the store comes back equal to the database before the server serves. Nothing is written until every difference is known, so a failed boot retries safely, and a store that already matches costs one read and no writes. The new live test
an_adopted_boot_reconciles_a_store_left_at_another_pointmoves the database while the store stays put, and fails against the whole-shape-only path because the deleted row's fact stays and the new row's never arrives.a_second_boot_reconciles_the_installed_modelnow also checks that an unchanged store is left untouched. The plan's R70 section and chapter 20 mark decision 6 as built, so R70 now waits only on R75 for step 2's frontier leg.Adopted boots reconciled only whole shape regions, so keyed facts could remain inconsistent with Postgres. This could leave stale grants active after a database restore or omit grants after a store restore.
The fix reconciles the full OpenFGA store against Postgres before serving. It determines all differences before writing, then changes only mismatched facts. When the store already matches, reconciliation performs no writes.
