There are some fixes of interest. In particular, the file system sync is very promising as it may fix the errors in the Docker based test suite. Since some of these changes would require a major release, they need to be incubated first. To do so, this projects consumes the changes from Git.
The old function worked only by coincidence. The new one guarantees to be compatible with ext4.

This branch switches to the upstream storage-device-managers to test
if it solves the issues with the Docker based test suite. While at it,
some improvements made possible by the new version are applied.
