User description

Summary

  • Repair invalid renovate.json on main: a prior rescan poke left a literal backtick-n after the description field, so the file is not JSON.
  • Replace it with the shared-preset consumer stub only (extends: github>MooseGooseConsulting/renovate-config). No Dependabot changes.

Test plan

  • python -c "import json; json.loads(open('renovate.json').read())" succeeds on this branch
  • Confirm the PR touches only renovate.json
  • After merge, origin/main:renovate.json parses as JSON

CodeAnt-AI Description

Restore valid Renovate configuration for automated dependency updates

What Changed

  • Removes the malformed text that prevented renovate.json from being read as JSON
  • Preserves the shared MooseGoose Renovate preset and schema declaration

Impact

✅ Renovate configuration loads successfully
✅ Automated dependency updates can use the shared preset

Pull request overview

This PR repairs an invalid renovate.json on main by removing malformed characters and restoring a minimal, valid Renovate “consumer” configuration that inherits the shared MooseGoose preset.

Changes:

  • Removes the malformed backtick/\n` sequence that broke JSON parsing.
  • Keeps the Renovate schema declaration and switches to a minimal extends stub pointing at github>MooseGooseConsulting/renovate-config.

Code Review Summary

Status: No Issues Found | Recommendation: Merge

PR #63 correctly repairs the malformed renovate.json by removing the literal backtick-n that followed the description field value (introduced by commit 8097268 chore(renovate): add description field to trigger rescan). The resulting file is valid JSON:

{
  "$schema": "https://docs.renovatebot.com/renovate-schema.json",
  "extends": ["github>MooseGooseConsulting/renovate-config"]
}

The fix preserves the $schema declaration and the shared-preset consumer stub (extends), compacts the extends array to a single line, and removes the trailing blank line. No bugs, security issues, or logic errors were found on the changed lines. The PR touches only renovate.json, consistent with its stated scope.
