Fix PR: #3944
Guards: added one local compatibility guard in src/megatron/bridge/utils/common_utils.py; removal TODO is remove this guard when Bridge no longer supports Megatron-LM commits before PR #4103. No stale guards removed.
Validation: local python3 -m py_compile ... passed. Local uv run python -m pytest ... was blocked by host wheel compatibility for nvidia-resiliency-ext==0.6.0. CW interactive validation on 2026-05-22 passed: uv run python -m pytest tests/unit_tests/utils/test_slice_batch_for_cp.py tests/unit_tests/diffusion/model/nemotron_labs_diffusion/test_dgpt_step.py tests/unit_tests/training/test_vlm_step.py tests/unit_tests/training/test_audio_lm_step.py tests/unit_tests/diffusion/model/wan/test_wan_layer_spec.py tests/unit_tests/diffusion/model/wan/test_wan_provider.py -q -> 69 passed, 33 warnings in 3.74s. CW interactive uv run pre-commit run --all-files passed.
Next action: review fix PR #3944; CI has been requested with /ok to test 036b3e59de2b98c796ee26c6d0c374542201dbd0.

Closing as superseded by the newer automated main / mcore-main bump in #3960. #3960 targets the same base branch (main), updates the same bump family (.main.commit, 3rdparty/Megatron-LM, and uv.lock), and its pull-request/3960 CI passed on 2026-05-24 before the bot manually merged commit 318c5ff0369c1086a3852ff018a1d87ba3b36077.
