Why is this file even in the repository? It should be autogenerated and not distributed.

@inthesquarehole The configure script is always included as part of the tarball, and since autoconf is not a standard developer program on most Unix systems we include a "precompiled" configure script in the repository so that users can build top-of-tree and not just a release tarball. |
