The distribution moves from
pydevices-audiodsptoomnipython-audiodsp, as part of OmniPython's 1.0 naming. Nothing you import changes:audiodsp, audiocore, synthio, audiorenderand the rest keep their names. What this changes:
pyproject.toml's project name, and the comments that name the distributiondistribution-nameandwheel-filename-prefixThe README and docs keep saying
pip install pydevices-audiodspfor now. On PyPI,omnipython-audiodspis a 0.0.1 placeholder until the first final ships under the new name, so pointing install lines at it today would install an empty package. The install lines switch in the same release as that final. The old name.
pydevices-audiodspgets one last release, an empty package whose only dependency isomnipython-audiodsp. Anyone pinned to the old name then upgrades onto the new one without changing anything. After that release the old name stops. It is built and published separately, after the firstomnipython-audiodsprelease is up, and is not part of this PR.Pre-releases first. The next tag,
v0.6.11.dev1, publishesomnipython-audiodspto TestPyPI only. The first final under the new name also uploads to production PyPI, which needs this workflow added as a trusted publisher on theomnipython-audiodspproject first. Until then, a final'spypijob fails cleanly, and the TestPyPI upload and GitHub release are unaffected.Checked:
uv build --sdistproducesomnipython_audiodsp-0.6.10.tar.gz. The shared publishing workflow takes the distribution name as an input, and TestPyPI creates the new project on first upload.
