Updates pydantic-settings from 2.14.2 to 2.15.0

Release notes

Sourced from pydantic-settings's releases.

v2.15.0

Highlights

Behavior changes

  • case_sensitive now applies to init kwargs and config-file sources (#900). InitSettingsSource and the JSON/TOML/YAML config sources previously ignored case_sensitive. Since it defaults to False, case-insensitive matching is now the default for these sources — e.g. Settings(TeSt=...) now populates a test field where it previously did not. Nested keys are still matched case-sensitively.
  • Fields with unresolved forward references now emit a warning (#901). Settings sources can silently fail to resolve such fields; they now raise IncompleteFieldDefinitionWarning telling you to call model_rebuild(). If you have filterwarnings = error configured, this may surface as a new failure.
  • Non-JSON env values for strict fields now raise ValidationError (#926) instead of a less specific error.

New features

  • Show environment variable names in CLI help via cli_show_env_vars=True (#860), so generated --help output doubles as configuration documentation.
  • PYDANTIC_SETTINGS_DEBUG for debugging settings resolution (#906, #913). Set it to a truthy value with DEBUG logging enabled to see each source's contribution in priority order, which source won for each value, and which env_file/secret files were probed, loaded, or skipped — the long-standing "why isn't my .env being picked up?" question.
  • toml_table_header for regular TOML files (#882, #886, #887), letting you root settings at a nested table in any TOML file, not just pyproject.toml.
  • Traversable support for JSON/TOML/YAML file sources (#902), so you can load config packaged inside a distribution — including files inside a zip or wheel — via importlib.resources.files(...) without casting to Path.
  • GCP: project_id can come from an earlier settings source (#878), rather than only from the constructor or GOOGLE_CLOUD_PROJECT.

Bug fixes

  • Fix env vars not loading on Windows with case_sensitive=True (#894). Windows upper-cases os.environ keys, so fields raised Field required instead of picking up their values.
  • Read secret files as UTF-8 instead of the platform locale encoding (#917). On Windows code pages such as cp1252 this silently corrupted non-ASCII secrets.
  • Fix AliasPath on nested model fields not JSON-decoding env values (#898).
  • Fix case-insensitive matching for optional nested models (#905).
  • Fix dotenv extras being wrongly claimed by a complex field sharing a name prefix (#912) — e.g. dbx_token being swallowed by a db: dict field.
  • Fix nested_model_default_partial_update=True corrupting discriminated unions (#876).
  • Fix Secret subclasses crashing when loaded from the environment (#920).
  • Fix enum names not parsing through nested annotations such as Optional[Annotated[MyEnum, ...]] with env_parse_enums=True (#910).
  • An empty yaml_config_section now falls back to defaults instead of raising AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'keys' (#914).
  • NestedSecretsSettingsSource no longer follows symlinks pointing outside secrets_dir (#889).
  • GCP: skip the list_secrets call when case_sensitive=True (#862), lowering the required IAM permissions to just roles/secretmanager.secretAccessor.
  • AWS: types-boto3[secretsmanager] is no longer required at runtime (#880).

Documentation

  • Document JSON parsing of complex env values, plus a comma-separated-values recipe (#919).
  • Recommend an async settings loading pattern (#908).
  • Clarify behavior when an unprefixed value is present in a dotenv file (#895).
  • Clarify environment variable helper descriptions (#867) and fix assorted typos (#904).

Updates sqlalchemy from 2.0.51 to 2.0.54

Release notes

Sourced from sqlalchemy's releases.

2.0.54

Released: September 15, 2026

platform

  • [platform] [change] Binary wheels are no longer built for Python 3.7. PyPI now rejects wheel files whose filename does not begin with the normalized project name, and the packaging tools that can be installed on Python 3.7 do not produce such a filename. As a result, SQLAlchemy 2.0.44 was the last release to publish Python 3.7 wheels to PyPI, and releases 2.0.45 and later have been available on Python 3.7 only as a source distribution; the wheel builds for Python 3.7 are now removed. Python 3.7 remains supported by the 2.0 series.

  • [platform] [bug] Fixed issue where the Cython extensions were compiled without the freethreading_compatible directive, so that they did not declare themselves as safe to run without the GIL. On a free-threaded Python interpreter such as Python 3.13t or 3.14t, importing SQLAlchemy would cause the interpreter to re-enable the GIL, emitting a RuntimeWarning. The directive is now set when building for Python 3.13 and above, and a test has been added which confirms that importing SQLAlchemy on a free-threaded build does not enable the GIL.

Released: September 14, 2026

orm

  • [orm] [bug] Fixed issue where an expression passed to _orm.with_expression() that embedded a _sql.select(), such as a correlated _sql.exists(), would fail to populate the attribute correctly on the second and subsequent executions of an otherwise identical statement, when the _orm.query_expression() attribute was loaded by a relationship loader that emits a second query, i.e. _orm.selectinload(), _orm.lazyload() or _orm.immediateload().

    References: #13560

  • [orm] [bug] Fixed memory issue where mapped classes, along with their Table and _orm.Mapper objects, would not be garbage collected after the _orm.registry in which they were mapped had been disposed and dereferenced. The issue would occur for mappings that made use of _orm.relationship() together with constructs such as an

Updates pypsa from 1.2.3 to 1.3.0

v1.3.0

Changelog

v1.3.0 19th August 2026 { id="v1.3.0" }

Features

  • Add support for piecewise linear marginal_cost and capital_cost curves on Generator, StorageUnit, Store, Link and Process components, as well as piecewise linear efficiency/rate curves on Link and Process components. Breakpoints can be passed directly to [n.add][pypsa.Network.add], e.g. n.add(https://github.com/PyPSA/PyPSA/blob/master/docs/"Generator", "gen", p_nom=100, marginal_cost={0.0: 0.0, 0.5: 60.0, 1.0: 70.0}). Convex curves are formulated with linear tangent constraints and non-convex curves automatically fall back to an SOS2 formulation. See the :material-book-open-variant: user guide and :material-notebook-multiple: example. ()

  • Add maintenance scheduling optimization for Generator, Link and Process components via the new attributes maintainable, maintenance_duration (elapsed time honoring snapshot weightings), maintenance_events and maintenance_pu. The timing of maintenance windows is co-optimized with dispatch, unit commitment and capacity expansion using binary maintenance start variables. See the :material-book-open-variant: user guide and :material-notebook-multiple: example. ()

  • Phase-shifting transformers (PSTs) are now supported in linear optimal power flow. Setting phase_shift_min < phase_shift_max on a Transformer turns its phase_shift into a per-snapshot decision variable bounded by those two attributes (degrees). The optimiser re-taps the PST each snapshot to redistribute flow around cycles, modelling TSO operational tap control. The optimised per-snapshot angle is written to the new dynamic output n.transformers_t["phase_shift_opt"]. ()

Enhancements

  • Prepare the optimization module for linopy's upcoming v1 semantics, keeping results unchanged and released linopy 0.9.x supported ():
    • Align expression operands explicitly for the v1 arithmetic convention (strict coordinate alignment and NaN handling).
    • Represent the multi-period snapshot dimension of n.model as a flat dimension with period/timestep auxiliary coordinates instead of a pandas.MultiIndex. The v1 semantics are not active by default, so existing custom constraints keep working unchanged, and [pypsa.options.optimization.model_snapshot_index][pypsa.options] selects the representation explicitly. See custom constraints for details. Detailed migration guides will follow with the official release of linopy v1.
  • Speed up netCDF I/O for networks with many components. [export_to_netcdf()][pypsa.Network.export_to_netcdf] avoids a costly stack() when writing dynamic data, and import avoids per-column boxing when coercing string dtypes. The on-disk format and round-trip behaviour are unchanged. ()
  • Speed up [create_model()][pypsa.optimization.OptimizationAccessor.create_model] for large networks by computing the bus membership filter in define_nodal_balance_constraints with a pandas hash join instead of xarray.isin over object-dtype arrays. ()
  • PyPSA now requires pandas>=3.0 and pyarrow. pandas 3 infers the str dtype for string data, backed by Arrow when pyarrow is installed. PyPSA still converts it back to numpy object on import, but will keep it in version 2.0. Opt in early with pypsa.options.api.legacy_string_dtype (see ). ()

Bug Fixes

  • Fix pickling of networks that contain sub-networks, which previously failed with cannot pickle 'weakref.ReferenceType' object. ()

  • Fix [n.optimize(linearized_unit_commitment=True)][pypsa.optimization.OptimizationAccessor.call] excluding the integer optimum for components that are both committable and extendable. The relaxation tightening constraints are no longer applied to extendable committables, where p_nom is an optimization variable. ()

  • Fix [system_cost][pypsa.statistics.StatisticsAccessor.system_cost] omitting fixed operation and maintenance costs (fom_cost), which are part of the optimization objective. It now returns the sum of capex, fom and opex, consistent with the objective function. ()

  • Fix [n.optimize()][pypsa.optimization.OptimizationAccessor.call] failing for stochastic networks (see [n.set_scenarios()][pypsa.Network.set_scenarios]) containing components with ramp limits. ()

  • Fix [n.optimize()][pypsa.optimization.OptimizationAccessor.call] failing with a KeyError when a network contains inactive components alongside committable, modular or ramp-limited ones. ()

  • [c.active_assets][pypsa.Components.active_assets] and [c.inactive_assets][pypsa.Components.inactive_assets] are now guaranteed to be mutually exclusive, also for stochastic networks. ()

  • Fix [installed_capex][pypsa.statistics.StatisticsAccessor.installed_capex] ignoring its cost_attribute argument and always using capital_cost. ()

  • Fix investment costs being silently dropped for networks specifying costs via overnight_cost, where the raw capital_cost column was read instead of the annuitized cost. Affected the [capex][pypsa.optimization.expressions.StatisticExpressionsAccessor.capex] expression, the transmission_expansion_cost_limit global constraint, and the objective correction in [optimize_transmission_expansion_iteratively()][pypsa.optimization.OptimizationAccessor.optimize_transmission_expansion_iteratively]. ()

  • The fixed phase_shift on Transformer components is now included in the cycle-based Kirchhoff Voltage Law constraint in n.optimize(). Previously the phase shift was not considered in LOPF (only n.lpf() and n.pf() respected it), causing optimisation results to diverge from subsequent non-linear power-flow verification. ()

  • Fixed spurious infeasibility in [optimize_with_rolling_horizon()][pypsa.optimization.OptimizationAccessor.optimize_with_rolling_horizon] when a network mixed committable and non-committable generators with ramp limits. At a window seam, non-committable components (which carry no commitment status) were assigned status=0, corrupting their start-up/shut-down ramp terms. ()

  • Fix [supply][pypsa.optimization.expressions.StatisticExpressionsAccessor.supply] and [withdrawal][pypsa.optimization.expressions.StatisticExpressionsAccessor.withdrawal] expressions dropping the charging contribution of StorageUnit components. The supply/withdrawal split now considers the effective coefficients of the operational variable, so the p_store term is correctly reported as a withdrawal. ()

  • The bus_carrier, carrier and groupby arguments of the statistics methods now accept any list-like value, not just lists. ()

  • Fix [n.graph()][pypsa.Network.graph] building edges in a non-deterministic order, which could make results that depend on the network's cycles differ between runs. In particular, security-constrained optimization (SCLOPF) now returns consistent results. ()

  • Fix a large memory spike when reading netCDF networks that store Shape geometries by reading variable-length string variables as object arrays via the netCDF4 backend. ()

  • Fix a tech_capacity_expansion_limit global constraint being ignored when no investment_period was given. The limit was silently skipped and n.optimize() could return capacities above it without warning. ()

v1.2.4 27th June 2026 { id="v1.2.4" }

Bug Fixes

  • Fix optimize() and [export_to_netcdf()][pypsa.Network.export_to_netcdf] failing under pandas >= 3.0 / future.infer_string. String labels are now converted back to object on both import and export. ()

  • Fixed the suffix argument of [n.add][pypsa.Network.add] and [n.remove][pypsa.Network.remove]. Passing a list to both name and suffix now raises an error instead of silently pairing them. ()

  • Fixed a collection of issues in the [n.statistics.*.plot/.iplot][pypsa.statistics.StatisticsAccessor] accessors ():

    • color=None now disables color grouping instead of falling back to "carrier".

Updates click from 8.4.1 to 8.5.0

Release notes

Sourced from click's releases.

8.5.0

This is the Click 8.5.0 feature release. A feature release may include new features, remove previously deprecated code, add new deprecation, or introduce potentially breaking changes.

We encourage everyone to upgrade. You can read more about our Version Support Policy on our website.

PyPI: https://pypi.org/project/click/8.5.0/ Changes: https://click.palletsprojects.com/page/changes/#version-8-5-0 Milestone https://github.com/pallets/click/milestone/33

  • Add built-in shell completion support for PowerShell (Windows PowerShell 5.1+ and pwsh 7+) alongside the existing bash, zsh, and fish completers. Use _FOO_BAR_COMPLETE=powershell_source foo-bar to generate the completion script. #2672 #3637
  • Supported versions of Windows enable ANSI terminal styles by default. Colorama is no longer a dependency and is not used. #2986 #3505
  • {class}Argument accepts a help parameter, and help output includes a Positional arguments section when argument help is available. #2983 #3473
  • confirm() and prompt() strip ANSI color and style codes from the prompt when the output stream does not support them, matching echo(). This stripping was lost in 8.4.0 when #2969 began writing the prompt with input() directly. #3572 #3653
  • {class}Path with allow_dash=True no longer triggers a BytesWarning, an error under python -bb, when checking a value against the - convention. #2877 #3642
  • Add {func}custom_version_option, a --version option whose output is produced by a callback, covering cases {func}version_option intentionally does not. The feature set of {func}version_option is now frozen; see [discussion #3527](`@version_option` future direction pallets/click#3527). #3581
  • style() and secho() no longer silently drop the 256-color index 0 (black...
