Thank you for your contribution. I appreciate the idea and simplicity of having an action for this, but request that you change from using a Script step to using the Look Up Records step which is designed for exactly this sort of use case and provides you with the record count by design.

This action finds all active incidents for a selected Assignment Group.
It returns the number of active incidents for that assignment group and a list with each incident’s number, priority, and state as output
