= Formidable Forms vs. Gravity Forms, WPForms, JotForm, and Typeform =

**WooCommerce Integration:** As the only WordPress form builder plugin fully integrated with WooCommerce, [Formidable lets you build custom WooCommerce product forms](https://formidableforms.com/features/customizable-woocommerce-forms/?utm_source=wprepo&utm_medium=link&utm_campaign=liteversion) with variable pricing, configuration options, and calculated totals that flow directly into the cart.
If you've compared WordPress form plugins, you've probably looked at Gravity Forms, WPForms, JotForm, or Typeform. This plugin's free version includes calculator forms, quiz forms, and Formidable Views, features some of those tools only offer as paid add-ons or leave out entirely. Form data stays in your own WordPress database instead of an external SaaS platform, and Formidable Pro adds an MCP server so AI clients like Claude and ChatGPT can build and edit forms directly on your site.

💡 Result:

Yes. The Formidable guide lists **Formidable Forms Pro and Formidable API Add-On 2.0** as requirements for connecting to an AI agent with MCP. It also requires an active subscription license and WordPress 6.9 or later. Name the API Add-On as an MCP requirement.

The MCP server comes from the Formidable API Add-On 2.0 and requires Formidable Pro. The current wording can imply that Formidable Pro alone provides the server.

* New: Global custom CSS is now scoped to only style form previews on the edit/new entry admin pages to prevent custom CSS from changing the appearance of other elements on the page.
* New: Product field shortcodes now support a show=price option.
* Performance: Database queries to determine [auto_id] shortcode values have been optimized, to significantly reduce page load times in forms with many entries.
* Performance: Database queries to detect unique values when validating has been optimized to improve the take it takes to process a form with a lot of entries.

- Revert "Tested up to" to 7.1 (two-segment version) per @Crabcyborg:
WordPress auto-matches the trailing patch release, so 6.35 remains
compatible with 7.1.2 etc. without listing it explicitly
- Trim changelog back to the most recent 3 versions (6.35, 6.34, 6.33.1)
per @Crabcyborg: Strategy11 convention only lists 3-4 recent versions
in the Lite readme, not full history
- Mention "searchable database" explicitly in the Views description and
Directories feature bullet, since a live blog post already targets
this term and drives meaningful traffic but the readme never used the
  phrase

Synchronize the plugin header before publishing 7.0.

readme.txt declares Stable tag: 7.0, but formidable.php still declares version 6.35. WordPress.org can select the 7.0 tag while the package reports 6.35, so users can receive stale version metadata and may not be offered the expected update. Run the documented release versioning step for 7.0 before deploying the tag.

Fix the 7.0 upgrade notice. It claims security fixes that the changelog does not list.

The notice says this version fixes security-related bugs and tells users to upgrade immediately. The 7.0 changelog (lines 365 to 397) has no Security: entries. The only Security: entries are under 6.35 (lines 400 to 401). Users will see an urgent security warning that the release notes do not support. Either add the matching 7.0 security entries or reword the notice.
