…tint On macOS 26 the menu bar is transparent and takes its light or dark tint from the wallpaper, so in Dark Mode with a bright wallpaper the menu opened light. The menu now takes NSApp's effective appearance: the appearance chosen in Settings, or the system's mode when set to follow the system. The bar's own two lines still follow the menu bar so they stay legible. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

On macOS 26 the menu bar is transparent and takes its light or dark tint from the wallpaper. The menu used to copy the status item button's appearance, so in Dark Mode with a bright wallpaper it opened light.
The menu now takes
NSApp's effective appearance when it opens: the appearance chosen in Settings, or the system's mode when set to follow the system (tao'sset_themesetsNSApp.appearance, nil for follow-system). The two lines on the bar itself still follow the menu bar, so they stay legible on any wallpaper.🤖 Generated with Claude Code
