Build Your Temperature/Humidity IoT Tracker

TechX Florida flyer: Build Your Temperature/Humidity IoT Tracker, presented by Liam Osman.

A hands-on workshop at TechX Florida 2024, the conference the IEEE Computer Society student branch chapter at the University of South Florida ran at USF. Liam Osman, hardware chair, walked the room through building a tracker on a Particle Argon. Everyone kept the board.

Saturday, November 23, 2024, C.W. Bill Young Hall, 2nd floor auditorium.

What we built

A DHT11 sensor wired to an Argon, publishing temperature and humidity to the Particle cloud so the readings show up in a browser. Open to any major, with teaching assistants working the room.

Files

  • Building an IoT Temperature Sensor.pdf, the slides.
  • firmware.ino, the sketch. It reads the DHT11 on pin A1 every two seconds and exposes temperature and humidity as Particle cloud variables.

You need the PietteTech_DHT library added to the project before it will compile.
