Note

Updates docs to reflect the new tier consolidation algorithm: add maxSkewThreshold/minDeletionRatio, mark/remove legacy segments*/minScore, and adjust descriptions across HTTP APIs, references, and release notes for 3.12 and 4.0.

  • HTTP API (3.12 & 4.0):
    • Update tier policy to base on segment byte size skew; adjust descriptions/enums.
    • Add maxSkewThreshold (0.0–1.0, default 0.4) and minDeletionRatio (0.0–1.0, default 0.5) to consolidationPolicy.
    • Mark legacy options segmentsMin, segmentsMax, segmentsBytesFloor, minScore as only available up to v3.12.6 (and remove from 4.0 specs where applicable).
    • Maintain segmentsBytesMax; add availability notes and ranges.
  • Reference docs:
    • Reflect new options and defaults; note deprecations/availability windows; switch tier description to “byte size skew”.
  • Release notes (3.12 & 4.0):
    • Add sections announcing removal of legacy consolidation options and addition of new ones.
    • Add “New consolidation algorithm” summary and cross-links to updated docs.
