The falling blocks sit in body's background, so they ran behind the footer too. Giving it the page colour of its own covers them there, which costs nothing visually since it is the colour already underneath.

body's background, so they ran behind the footer as well as the page. Giving the footer the page colour of its own covers them there.It costs nothing visually:
