Summary
Check producer exit statuses independently of output and clean candidate temporary state on success/failure. Exercise quiet stderr, configuration precedence, lifecycle status/cleanup, signal handling, and dry-run no-write behavior. Add exit-42 fake-candidate regressions. Test baseline v2.0.0 and current v2.1.0 on Ubuntu/macOS, and run the pinned canary on minimum Bash 4.2. Preserve the vendor pin.
Validation
Full ./tests/validate.sh passed: 29 BATS cases, 22 artifact regressions, independent SPDX validation and cross-timezone artifacts. Expanded canary passed locally against v2.0.0 and v2.1.0 (36fec50c446dcea8c521a1ba3e7fee2394f169c0). Hosted four-row compatibility matrix dispatched for this branch before merge.
