We don't currently have any source of analytics on any of the BeeWare websites.
Google Analytics isn't really an option; default operation uses cookies, and Google's "Consent mode" disables much of the base functionality, augmenting the lost information with "machine learning estimates", so our analytics would actually be statistical projections.
The main problem is that paid analytics tools that are GDPR compliant (like Plausible) tend to be paid - and the amount you pay is dependent on traffic. And we don't actually know what traffic we're getting, so we can't estimate costs... other than the fact that last month we got over a million page hits last month on the FontAwesome CDN (#273). I have no reason to believe that is an accurate visitor estimate - but I'm not going to attach my credit card to something that could accidentally cost hundreds of dollars a month.
This PR adds a Goatcounter tracker. It has 2 useful properties:
It doesn't have conversion or funnel tracking, but the price is right for evaluating underlying traffic. Once we have a traffic estimate, we can look to see if paying for Plausible (or similar) might be worth it.
