To test compatibility (apart from my own specific use case), I temporarily installed `vite@8.0.14` and ran the test suite; it passed. I also had to change `moduleResolution` to `bundler` in `tsconfig.json`. Wasn't sure if you'd want those changes so I only committed the peer dependency.
