Roblox Touchscreen Toggle

Small Windows 11 launcher that temporarily turns off your touchscreen while Roblox starts. This can help when Roblox games show mobile/touch controls instead of normal PC controls.

Works with both:

  • Normal Roblox Player
  • Microsoft Store / Xbox Roblox app

What it does

  1. Turns off the touchscreen device.
  2. Opens the Roblox version you choose.
  3. Waits until the Roblox process is running.
  4. Waits 2 more minutes.
  5. Turns the touchscreen back on.

Quick setup

  1. Download or clone this folder.
  2. Double-click setup.bat.
  3. Accept the Windows administrator popup.
  4. Use one of the new desktop shortcuts:
    • Roblox Player No Touch
    • Roblox Store No Touch

Windows needs admin permission because disabling/enabling a hardware device is a protected action.

Files

  • setup.bat: easiest setup file. It runs the Python setup and asks Windows for admin permission automatically.
  • roblox_no_touch.py: main Python launcher.
  • launch_roblox_no_touch.bat: opens normal Roblox Player.
  • launch_roblox_store_no_touch.bat: opens Microsoft Store / Xbox Roblox.
  • config.example.json: example settings file.
  • Launch-Roblox-NoTouch.ps1 and Setup-RobloxTouchscreenToggle.ps1: older PowerShell-only version, kept for people who prefer it.

Python must be installed. If setup.bat says Python was not found, install it from python.org and check Add python.exe to PATH during installation.

Hardware ID

The setup tries to find your touchscreen automatically using Windows device info. It only auto-selects devices named:

HID-compliant touch screen

This is intentional so it does not accidentally disable some other touch, pen, sensor, or HID device.

If it finds the wrong thing, open config.json and replace:

"PUT_YOUR_TOUCHSCREEN_INSTANCE_ID_HERE"

with your touchscreen Instance ID from Device Manager.

If you used an older version of this tool, run setup.bat again so config.json is rebuilt with the stricter touchscreen detection.

To find it manually:

  1. Open Device Manager.
  2. Find your touchscreen, usually under Human Interface Devices.
  3. Right-click it, choose Properties.
  4. Go to Details.
  5. Choose Device instance path or Hardware Ids.
  6. Copy the value into config.json.

Example:

{
  "TouchscreenInstanceIds": [
    "HID\\VID_0000&PID_0000&COL01\\0&0000000&0&0000"
  ],
  "RobloxLauncherPath": "AUTO",
  "StoreAppUserModelId": "AUTO",
  "PlayerProcessNames": [
    "RobloxPlayerBeta"
  ],
  "StoreProcessNames": [
    "Windows10Universal",
    "RobloxPlayerBeta",
    "Roblox"
  ],
  "DefaultRobloxKind": "player",
  "WaitAfterPlayerStartsSeconds": 120,
  "PlayerStartTimeoutSeconds": 120
}

Notes

  • If Roblox updates, "RobloxLauncherPath": "AUTO" lets the launcher search for the latest Roblox Player launcher.
  • "StoreAppUserModelId": "AUTO" lets setup search for the Microsoft Store/Xbox Roblox app.
  • If you use the Roblox website Play button, this script will not run. Use the Roblox Player No Touch desktop shortcut instead.
  • A log file named RobloxTouchscreenToggle.log is created next to the scripts.
  • The Python version still uses Windows PowerShell internally for the actual device on/off step, because Windows exposes Enable-PnpDevice and Disable-PnpDevice there.
  • This tool might clear your Roblox cache data, and you might have to login again.
  • Please do not close the python terminal forcefully, it will terminate itself after 120 seconds.

Uninstall

Open PowerShell as administrator and run:

Unregister-ScheduledTask -TaskName "RobloxTouchscreenTogglePlayer" -Confirm:$false
Unregister-ScheduledTask -TaskName "RobloxTouchscreenToggleStore" -Confirm:$false

Then delete the desktop shortcut and this folder.
