+## Purpose
+Chat app using socket.io
+
+## Set Up
+1. Clone the repo into whatever directory you choose
+2. 'npm i' (to install all dependencies)
+3. 'npm run start' to start the Server
+4. go to 'http://localhost:3000/' to see it running
+
+## Methods
+  * Choose a username: saves whatever username is provided and assigns it as a property on the user object (associated with the socket id which made the connection)
+  * Write a message: sends a message to the public message board.
+
