Adds a Seekquel connector, as discussed on Reddit. Seekquel (https://seekquel.app) is a book tracker; with this, a reader can keep CrossPoint Sync as their sync server and still have their reading logged there.

What it does

  • Links by device code. "Link" starts a pairing on Seekquel, the reader approves the code in the Seekquel app (the button opens the right page with the code filled in), and the poll returns a per-link key. No password is stored. Same device_code flow as BookFusion.
  • Carries progress, finished and highlights. Write-only (read: false).
  • No book matching on our side. Seekquel speaks KOSync under /koreader and keys books by the same document hash, so the connector uses matchBy: 'document' like the kosync mirror and sends the hash as is. It attaches the title, author and filename we hold for the document (read fresh at push time, since the title often arrives after the first sync), and Seekquel matches the file to a book itself. A file it cannot place waits in the reader's Seekquel library until they pick the book.
  • Progress is a KOSync PUT /syncs/progress, with the CrossPoint position object forwarded (an xpath over 120 characters is dropped from it rather than refused).
  • Finished sends the place, then PUT /documents/{hash}/status with read, once. Every sync of a book at 100% fans out as finished, so the connector remembers on the match (in snapshot, tied to the current link) that Read was sent, and only sends it again after the book has gone back below the end. Otherwise a reader who starts a re-read in Seekquel would be marked Read again by every sync of the old copy.
  • Highlights go to POST /highlights with an id derived from the document, spine, offsets and text, so a re-sent or edited highlight updates instead of duplicating.
  • A book Seekquel has not placed yet answers 409 for highlights and status. Seekquel matches a file a few seconds after the first progress push that carries its title, so a 409 is retryable and the queue's backoff delivers it once the book is placed. A file nobody ever places dead-letters with a message saying to pick the book in Seekquel and press Sync now.
  • 401 asks to link again; 429 and 5xx retry.

Files

  • src/connectors/seekquel.ts, registered in registry.ts, marked beta.
  • Copy in app/src/Settings.jsx, src/routes/web.ts and src/routes/landing.ts, plus a 128px icon in assets/icons/seekquel.png.
  • SEEKQUEL_URL (optional, defaults to https://api.seekquel.app) in the README config table, only for testing against a local Seekquel.
  • test/seekquel.test.ts: unit tests against a fake transport, plus an end-to-end link and fan-out through the real routes and queue.

Not in this PR

Reading time. Connectors only receive progress, finished and highlight events, so there is no way to pass reading stats on yet. If you're open to it, I'd like to propose a follow-up that adds a stats data kind for the per-device daily seconds, so Seekquel (and anyone else) could log reading time too. Happy to shape that however suits you.

The Seekquel side is already live behind a switch, so nothing changes for your users until this is merged and deployed. If you'd like to try it before merging, send me your Seekquel username and I'll turn it on for your account.

npx tsc --noEmit and npm test pass (600 tests). I also ran it end to end against a local Seekquel: linking by code, a device sync arriving with its title and author, a highlight and its note, a finished book marked Read, and a highlight on a not-yet-placed book waiting and landing on the next retry once the book was picked.

Links a Seekquel account by device code and sends progress, finished books and highlights to Seekquel's KOSync surface, keyed by the document hash with the title and author attached so Seekquel matches the file itself.

What do you mean about it being behind a switch. Meaning it's a link unlink thing here or a switch on your side? Currently we don't run the clock while reading on CrossPoint so we don't locally capture that in the firmware so we'd need to add that

Only a 401 from Seekquel asks the reader to link again. The device-code poll now checks the connector's validation before storing a credential, as the token and OAuth paths already do. Seekquel's check treats only a 401 as a rejection, so a rate limit or a dropped connection while linking does not lose a link the reader just approved.

Good question. The switch is on our side: Seekquel has a feature switch for this connection. It's on for our beta testers now and goes on for everyone once this is merged and deployed. Nothing to toggle on your end, readers just link and unlink as usual.

On reading time, no rush, that's a separate conversation. CrossInk already sends per-book totals to /api/v1/stats/books and Seekquel already accepts that exact shape, so for CrossInk the follow-up would only need connectors to receive those totals. For CrossPoint, I may be wrong, but I thought the reader.session plugin event on develop carried a sitting's start and duration. If the firmware does end up keeping a clock, it could feed the same totals. Entirely your call on whether and how.

I've also pushed fixes for the two CodeRabbit notes: a 403 no longer asks the reader to relink, and the device-code poll now won't store a credential its connector rejects, same as the token and OAuth paths. That last one touches the shared poll route, so happy to drop it if you'd rather keep this PR to the connector.

Yeah if you support the crossink shape then it'll just work for that and I'd suggest just accepting it if the reader sends it

Yep, that's already built on our side: a CrossInk pointed at Seekquel's sync address sends its totals and they're credited. It opens to everyone along with this connector. For readers who keep CrossPoint Sync as their server, a stats event on connectors would cover them too, whenever you're up for it. No rush.
