| 1 | What arrives is one folder inside a zip. |
| 2 | Save a copy of files you added, then let the replacement archive unpack over the folder. |
| 3 | Download the zip archive, extract it, and run the setup file in the folder. |
| 4 | Order of the start is unchanged: extract the archive, then run setup. |
| 5 | A newly downloaded file may cause Windows to display the unsigned-file warning again |
A stick I can write to made the opening feel slow. Is that normal?
On a writable USB stick, that slow first start is normal.
How do I pick up a newer build without losing files I added?
Download the later archive. Copy aside anything you added before extracting it over the old folder.
How do I start it?
Extract the zip, open the folder, and then start setup.
The top of the extract has no start file. Did the zip nest it?
It did. One level inward, setup stands with the other files.
Unpack the zip into a folder. Opening that folder and running setup starts the program.
Reinstalling means extracting again. There is no separate install step.
The archive is a plain zip. No installer runs behind it.
What the application expects to find:
- The extracted files must remain in a single folder for the program to function properly
- A Microsoft account is not required.
- Hard disk, SSD, and NVMe storage all work the same for the archive.
- All of the unpacked files have to stay in a single folder.
- The archive takes disk space, and the unpacked files need a little room next to it.
- Run it with no compiler and no source tree on hand.
