Summary

 pyproject.toml
-version = "2.0.0"
+version = "3.0.0"
 memclaw/__init__.py
-__version__ = "0.1.1" # never updated since 0.1.1
+__version__ = version("memclaw") # from package metadata
 README.md
+ "Upgrading from 2.x to 3.0" notes under Quick Start

Why major: since v2.0.0 three public interfaces were removed: memclaw save --permanent, MemoryStore.save(permanent=…), and MemclawConfig(conversation_history_limit=…, conversation_history_window_minutes=…).

Evidence

  • Before: memclaw.__version__ → 0.1.1 on an installed 2.0.0
    After: built wheel memclaw-3.0.0-py3-none-any.whl → Version: 3.0.0, __version__ → 3.0.0
  • Upgrade path, fresh venv:
pip install memclaw==2.0.0 → save a note, save --permanent → ok
install the 3.0.0 wheel on top, same vault:
search "what bike do I have" → finds the 2.0.0 note
      status → Model claude-sonnet-5-5, Consolidation claude-opus-5-5 (medium)
save --permanent → "No such option '--permanent'" (as documented)

  • pytest → 400 passed, ruff clean.

Merge Danger

Door: two-way

A version bump and docs. Nothing is published until the v3.0.0 GitHub release is created.

Blast Radius: release

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

Major bump: memclaw save --permanent, MemoryStore.save(permanent=) and
the MemclawConfig conversation_history_* fields are removed. README gets
upgrade notes for 2.x users. __version__ now comes from the package
metadata (it was stuck at 0.1.1).
