Added a Note callout to the "Theme configuration" section of the site-level settings page explaining that
theme:styles UI elements only and does not control the color mode; Fern follows the visitor's OS preference and no docs.yml key forces dark or light mode. The Note lists the closest options with links:settings.dark-mode-code: true(Settings configuration),<Fern.ThemeSwitch />in a custom header (Header and footer page), and setting both light and dark values undercolors.
