A universal GUI tool to automatically translate Ren'Py games — extracts scripts, detects dialogue and narration, and writes Ren'Py-compatible translation files (

- Click Analyze & Translate — extracts, decompiles, parses and translates the game
- Review & Edit — click any row in the table to edit the machine translation
- Click Save Translation — writes the reviewed translations to
game/tl/<lang>/and installs the activator - Export (optional) — creates a distributable
GameName-<lang>/folder withgame/tl/<lang>/and activator, even without a previous Save

Choose a profile next to the backend selector for Google Turbo and Bing Turbo:

Google Turbo always uses mirror health tracking, reusable HTTP sessions, adaptive pacing, and exponential backoff after rate-limit responses.
Completed translations are cached per language pair in ~/.cache/renpy-translator/. Re-running a translation skips text already in the cache, reducing both runtime and requests to translation services.

pip install customtkinter pillow deep-translator requestsIf you also use Ren'Py WTForge to generate a walkthrough mod, always translate first, then generate the mod — so WTForge picks up the translated choice texts automatically.
Third-party walkthrough mods (e.g. Ronnu's) are automatically patched for translated caption compatibility — choice hints will display correctly in any language, without duplicating the original English text.
Run one command from the project root to create the generic ZIP, Windows ZIP, native macOS DMG and, when Docker Desktop is running, the Linux x86_64 package:
./build/build_all.shArtifacts are written to dist/. The Linux environment is built inside the python:3.12-bookworm Docker image; if Docker is unavailable, the other builds still complete and Linux is skipped.
