The "Repository Structure" block was hard-wrapped by the AsciiDoc→Markdown conversion, so the entire tree collapsed into a single paragraph and rendered as one run-on line.

Rebuilt from the block's own content:

  • depth recovered from the │ continuation bars that survived the wrap
  • the guide entry moved under .github/, where the guide actually lives
  • \# escapes unescaped, └── restored on the last entry of each group
  • the block fenced with ```text so it renders as a tree

Every annotation ("Perimeter 1-2" etc.) is preserved — nothing invented, nothing dropped.

Mechanical repairs to the guide, each anchored on a known-broken form:

- unescaped \# -> #
- rebuilt the hard-wrapped setup block into one command per line
- replaced invalid `():` commit header
- dedented headings that rendered as code

No prose is rewritten; only the broken forms are corrected.

📝 Summary

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Documentation
    • Updated contribution guidance to recommend Guix for reproducible development environments.
    • Reformatted repository structure, branch naming, and commit message guidance for improved readability.
    • Expanded commit message examples to include descriptions, rationale, and issue references.

Walkthrough

The contribution guide now recommends Guix, corrects Markdown structure, and documents a commit message template with body and issue-reference sections.

Changes

The primary setup instruction fails before contributors enter the development environment, and several contribution-guide sections render incorrectly. Correct the command and Markdown structure before merging.

Fence the multi-line examples to preserve Markdown semantics.

Lines beginning with # in the setup example render as Markdown headings instead of shell comments. The repository-tree and branch-name examples render as paragraphs, so their line structure collapses. Fence the setup block as bash, and fence the tree and branch-name blocks as text.

Remove the four-space indentation from the contribution guidance.

Four-space indentation makes the content in lines 43–56, 60–72, 76–83, and 97 indented Markdown code blocks. The lists, links, and horizontal rule in these ranges do not render as Markdown. Remove the leading four spaces from those lines.

Remove the duplicate optional placeholders.

The commit template already describes Body: and Footer:. The escaped [optional body] and [optional footer] lines introduce a second, inconsistent template. Remove them or consolidate the guidance into one example.
