Driving properly one monoaxe gimbal #11758

Description

@samsab1

Hello everyone. Can someone explain how to configure a Cadix PV GM1 gimbal on a quadcopter? It has only one axis of rotation but requires three parameters to manage its operating mode, sensitivity, and rotation. I’m running into a conflict: I have to assign the gimbal to a UART port, but the configuration panel—while allowing me to enter gimbal-related settings—only offers control parameters for individual axes (as if for a 3-axis gimbal). Furthermore, the "Gimbal" mode tab doesn't provide explicit options for specific behaviors—such as a vertical mode for a top-down ground view, a horizontal mode locked at zero degrees relative to the drone, or an FPV mode with adjustable upward tilt. How can I achieve the following setup: adjustable sensitivity, the ability to set at least two fixed positions (vertical and "horizon"), and a third "FPV" mode that allows me to adjust the camera angle on demand?

Ideally, it would be good to be able to define three modes:
a vertical mode,
a horizontal mode,
and finally, a head-tracking mode—activated by a switch—that would allow for total freedom regarding the orientation of the gimbal and, consequently, the camera.
