LAYR Studio is a desktop workspace for a lead agent and many workers. It uses Codex app-server for model sessions, tools, and permissions, and adds durable orchestration, agent messages, command monitors, and user replies.
Requirements and detailed setup are in the product guide.
pnpm install --frozen-lockfile
git config --local core.hooksPath .githooks
cargo build --release -p studio-operations-python
python3 workspaces/runtime/apps/server/src/install-cli.py
pnpm --filter codex-agents-web run build
pnpm --filter codex-agents-desktop run startThe installer copies the built module into the managed Python environment; it does not build it.
The root package.json owns root commands. Each app manifest
owns its package commands; see the workspace guides below.
For independent checks, just is the discoverable entry point: use one named
test for a hypothesis, just check <package> for a package change, and the
server/client suites in docs/testing.md as the pre-PR gate.
