Prerequisites

• Python 3.8+
• Google Chrome (for Chrome-based tests)
• Firefox (for test_basic_navigation.py and Selenium.py)

ChromeDriver and GeckoDriver are managed automatically via webdriver-manager — no manual driver installation required.

Setup

1. Clone the repository:

   git clone https://github.com/ioanadaria/Selenium.git
   cd Selenium/Selenium-with-Python

2. (Optional) Create and activate a virtual environment:

   python -m venv venv
   # Windows
   venv\Scripts\activate
   # macOS/Linux
   source venv/bin/activate

3. Install dependencies:

   pip install -r requirements.txt

Running the Tests

Run the full test suite:

pytest tests/ -v

Run with an HTML report:

pytest tests/ -v --html=report.html

Run a specific test file:

pytest tests/test_cookies.py -v

Running Individual Scripts

Each script in the root of Selenium-with-Python/ can be run standalone:

python Selenium_alertAPI.py
python Selenium_AddCookies.py

Environment Variables

Some scripts support configuration via environment variables:
