Publish v* tags through GitHub Actions using npm trusted publishing after checks and tests pass. Use the current Node.js LTS release for publishing.

Name the benchmark command bench and use node:assert/strict with the short assertion names in tests and benchmarks. Declare the CommonJS package type and lint .mjs files with Node.js globals that exclude CommonJS-only bindings. Align ESLint configuration structure, npm script ordering, and Git ignore patterns with the other jsdom projects.

Use ci.yml with the CI workflow name, multiline YAML lists, consistent job and step names, and read-only repository permissions. Enforce dependency engines in workflow installations and explicitly test Node.js 26.0.0 alongside the existing minimum versions.

Update to ESLint config 6.1.0 and regenerate the lockfile.
