Question about Support / Funding

Hi Kit,

I've been following this project for a while and think it's hands down the best i{Pad}OS SSH app out there. You're astoninshingly responsive to feature requests and I've seen you implement new features within a week - the latest thing I've been impressed with is zmx support.

When I first did feature requests the source code wasn't available and GitHub was used for bug reports and feature requests. Today I noticed the full source code is available, which is amazing.

I was expecting to pony up £20 to buy this app for iOS in the future, since that seems to be the going rate for comparable apps (e.g. Blink, Termunius, maybe Prompt).

I was wondering what your funding model is for this project, and if it's going to be your main gig, etc. I'd like to be able to pay my £20!

Thanks for the positive feedback. I have no current plans to gate any functionality, but do plan to offer options for those that want to offer their financial support when they are in a position to do so.

Outside of financial support there are also some areas that would benefit from others that are looking to contribute. The project remains open to feature requests and PRs, but help in the following areas is also needed :

1. Documentation. I still plan on trying to outline some of the happy path concepts behind the application, but perspective from users that are not as close as I am to the project would benefit an effort here. A benefit of this being open source is that anyone can in theory point their agent at the source code and ask a question, but some of the bigger picture things are still lost there.

2. Website and App Store marketing materials. The current App Store screenshots are becoming dated and don’t do a good job of capturing the current state of the app.

Outside of feature requests there is also a backlog of work related to successfully upstreaming some of the forks we have ended up with including the recent herdr control mode work.

One last small thing. In the last build I did add a small “add a review” link in settings, but still am not doing the annoying pop up that asks for a review. As a result our review counts remain low in the AppStore relative to our user base. Gruber is often pointing out the dickovers on websites. What do we call this in apps?
