A version 0 sgpd entry of an unknown grouping type reads to the end of the box, so every later entry decodes as empty and costs no input. A 20-byte sgpd declaring 0xffff0000 entries therefore pushed billions of SgpdEntry values, growing past 3 GB of RSS. moq's media fuzz targets found it from a 22-byte fMP4 init (moq-dev/moq#7313), so a hostile catalog init or fMP4 ingest could cause it.
Change
Sgpd::decode_body_ext rejects an entry_count above the bytes left in the box (OutOfBounds, surfaced as OverDecode(sgpd)), the same guard evte uses. Every real entry is at least a byte (roll 2, rap 1, refs 5, a per-entry length 4), so no valid file is refused.
The initial capacity keeps its 1024-entry cap, so a large box with a large count still cannot allocate up front.
Tests: the 20-byte box is rejected, and a version 0 box with two unknown entries still decodes as before.
Public API: none. Behavior: such boxes now fail to decode instead of exhausting memory.

iloc with zero-size offset, length and index fields makes every extent cost no input, so 31 bytes allocate about 6 MB. No count bound fits there without refusing valid single-extent items at the end of a box, so it needs its own design.
Round 1 on fe98f596ca: the count guard alone let a 100 MB box with 100M entries allocate gigabytes up front. Fixed in b123166811 by restoring the 1024-entry capacity cap.
A version 0 entry of an unknown grouping type reads to the end of the
box, so every later entry decodes empty for free, and a 20-byte sgpd
declaring 0xffff0000 entries grew a Vec past 3 GB. Every entry takes at
least a byte, so a count above the remaining bytes is now OutOfBounds.
Found by moq's media fuzz targets (moq-dev/moq#7313).

Allow valid zero-byte version 0 sample group entries
For an HEVC track using a version 0 sgpd with one tsas or stsa entry, this check rejects a valid box: these sample group entries have empty payloads, as defined in ISO/IEC 14496-15, sections 8.4.6.2.2 and 8.4.7.2.2. Such a box has entry_count == 1 and zero remaining bytes; previously, AnySampleGroupEntry::decode preserved it as an empty unknown entry, but now decoding returns OverDecode(sgpd), also preventing the containing track or fragment from decoding. Account for legitimate zero-byte grouping types rather than applying the one-byte minimum universally.
Sgpd::decode_body_ext now checks whether the declared entry count exceeds the remaining bytes and returns Error::OutOfBounds if it does. New tests cover an oversized count and two version 0 entries with an unknown grouping type when the count fits.
Merge Risk: Low · up to b1231
The change bounds oversized entry counts, but also rejects encoded version 0 unknown entries with empty payloads. Mergeable with explicit acceptance or follow-up for this narrow compatibility regression; any correction must preserve the resource bound.

Keep a bound on zero-byte version 0 entries.
71-73: Minor · Data Integrity & Integration · Poor tradeoff
Keep a bound on zero-byte version 0 entries.
Version 0 entries of an unknown grouping type have no length prefix. encode_body_ext writes the count, then each payload, and an empty payload writes zero bytes. A body with two empty entries therefore has count 2 and no payload bytes. The check at sgpd.rs:71-73 rejects that body with OutOfBounds, which surfaces as OverDecode(sgpd). A count of 1 with an empty payload is rejected the same way.
Removing the check for these entries would reintroduce the unbounded growth this change prevents. A 20-byte box can declare a count far larger than its size. A fix must still limit zero-byte entries and reject oversized counts. That limit is a design decision, so this comment proposes no code change.

Update the `entry_count` validation in `sgpd` so version 0 entries without
length prefixes can have empty payloads without being rejected solely because
`buf.remaining()` is zero. Replace the byte-for-count comparison with a finite
entry-count bound that still rejects excessive counts and prevents unbounded
growth.
Assert the second entry in the version 0 unknown-type test.
Assert the second entry in the version 0 unknown-type test.
sgpd_version_0_unknown_entries_still_decode builds two version 0 entries of the unknown type roll. It asserts entries.len() and entries[0] only, so a change that decodes entries[1] incorrectly still passes. The second entry is expected to decode as an empty unknown-type entry, so the test should assert that value.

Update the `sgpd_version_0_unknown_entries_still_decode` test to assert that
`sgpd.entries[1].entry` is an `UnknownGroupingType` with the `roll` grouping
type and an empty payload, while preserving the existing first-entry assertion.
