Summary

Restyles OpenDiff’s Vue chrome so Home, Folder Compare, Text Compare, and shared shell chrome match the standalone HTML UI demo’s layout, colors, and density.

What changed

  • Light-theme tokens (text, borders, primary, menu/status fills, selection) aligned with the demo palette
  • Home: session tree sidebar, Open/Edit actions, launch cards (size, radius, grid spacing), selection hover
  • Shell: menu bar, tab strip, status bar height/fill
  • Session toolbars and shared path/filter inputs sized toward the demo toolbar/path chrome
  • Density unit tests updated to the new metrics

Non-goals (unchanged)

  • Compare / merge / sync algorithms and Rust core
  • Session command wiring and Pinia stores (handlers kept; class/CSS/presentational markup only)
  • No HTML demo files shipped as the runtime UI

Tests

  • vitest run src/styles/ src/views/HomeView.test.ts src/layouts/AppLayout.test.ts (315 passed)
  • Pre-commit quality (lint / stylelint / typecheck / rust fmt+clippy) on commit

Follow-ups

Residual gaps vs the HTML demo may remain on Options/Rules/Formats/Profiles/Reports and some per-view empty panels; this pass prioritizes shell + Home + shared path/toolbar/status + Folder/Text chrome.

Align light-theme tokens, menu/status bars, session toolbars,
Home cards/tree, and shared path inputs with the standalone
HTML demo density and colors. Keep session handlers and Rust
core untouched.
Point Home, shell, status, path, toolbar, and session view
density locks at the remodeled demo metrics so unit checks
stay honest with the new chrome.
Match sidebar density, selection colors, empty states, and dialog layout
to the demo panels without changing compare or settings behavior.
Hide non-demo docks and headers by default, and keep Rules/Filters
panels off until opened from the session toolbar.
Align panel visibility expectations with the simplified chrome defaults.
Prepare the release cut with package, Tauri, and workspace crate versions.
Keep packaging metadata in sync with the product version bump.
Hide only export docks and specialty headers so session CTAs stay
actionable, and expect the demo-height status bar in Playwright.
Rules stay off by default; the smoke test opens the panel first.
