Change

Two scheduled or manual workflows on main never finish.

  • Nightly asset sweep: "Every published asset" has been cancelled at its 30-minute limit every night since 2026-10-18. About 106,000 inventoried keys at the shared agent's 8 connections take that long by themselves. check-assets-published takes --shard=<i>/<n> and checks one of n disjoint parts of the keys, chosen by a stable hash of each key. The nightly job runs four shards in parallel.
  • Site comparison: "Compare the complete built site" and its base producer failed with No inventory.json for abundantia. The prepared-files cache is restored by key prefix and still holds folders of the 185 asteroid pages retired in 4cc8be7525. The cache pruning skipped folders without an inventory, so their preparation inputs were requested. It now removes a folder that holds nothing but the ignored prepared/ output; a live object always has tracked files beside it.

Evidence and limits

Proves the change:

  • A new test splits 32 keys across four shards: each key is checked exactly once, and each shard requests only its own keys. It fails when the shard filter is removed.
  • A new test removes a prepared-only folder and keeps a live object without an inventory. It fails when that pruning is removed.
  • Both workflows are dispatched on this branch; their runs are linked in the comments.

Clean: eslint on the touched files; the bake typecheck; the asset publication tests (25) and the restore-preparation tests (2).
