I'm sure I am not configuring something correctly but if not then I'm happy to raise a PR to the docs so that others do not make the same mistake.
j0nnymoe commentedon Apr 18, 2026
Are you setting an app URL?
Is this a fresh or existing install?
ghinks commentedon Apr 18, 2026
Thank you @j0nnymoe this indeed a fast response. I did try it using
- APP_URL=http://192.168.7.147:8080with the same result
j0nnymoe commentedon Apr 18, 2026
Are you re-creating/deploying the container when you make this change? Also you should be replacing the
/path/topart of the/configvolume as it's a placeholder.thespad commentedon Apr 18, 2026
Check the application log at
/config/log/laravel.logfor the specifics of the 500 error.ghinks commentedon Apr 18, 2026
I am not re-creating , the laravel.log is empty.
I will try re-creating.
j0nnymoe commentedon Apr 18, 2026
Just a note, when using compose, if you change your compose file, you need to
downthenup -dto recreateghinks commentedon Apr 18, 2026
noted. Yes I have been deleting the last image and checking with
docker ps -aeach time. No luck so far. This is the current config I am usingI can see the nginx logs are
192.168.7.147 - - [18/Apr/2026:13:45:04 +0000] "GET / HTTP/1.1" 500 6431 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/147.0.0.0 Safari/537.36" 192.168.7.147 - - [18/Apr/2026:13:45:04 +0000] "GET /fonts/inter/inter.css HTTP/1.1" 404 6672 "http://192.168.7.147:8080/" "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/147.0.0.0 Safari/537.36"So I am hitting the container and I get the error image in the browser.

Sincere thanks for the help Jonny Moe.
j0nnymoe commentedon Apr 18, 2026
Are you providing a valid app key?
Need to see laravel logs
ghinks commentedon Apr 18, 2026
Yes, I used a valid key , but there are no logs being generated in the laravel log file at all. I will re-check shortly and provide more information.
j0nnymoe commentedon Apr 22, 2026
Just deployed this again myself due to moving my instance, unable to replicate.
ghinks commentedon Apr 24, 2026
Thank you Jonny, I am about to try out your configuration.

I have the same issue, although I have installed it as a docker inside Unraid.
Log is the same as OP; I also get Server Error 500 when I try to open the gui.
j0nnymoe commentedon May 28, 2026
99% sure it's an issue with your key, that's the only time I'm able to replicate this error when the key is invalid.
Artanisx commentedon May 29, 2026
Thanks for the reply! So, I tried to generate a new key again. My procedure this time was to launch the docker container for Speedtest tracker from Unraid, then open the console there.
I put this command:
echo "base64:$(openssl rand -base64 32 2>/dev/null)"And I got this key:
base64:wPYJWg2dde/GVIIyToREMOVINGSOMECHARACTERSJUSTINCASE=Then I went ahead, stopped the container, and clicked EDIT. I added this key (including Base64) in the APP_KEY field and updated.
This is the docker command that is shown:
I get this log:
I also checked the about command launching the console:
It seems to be working, however if I try to launch the web ui...
I tried launching the webui from the docker manager, I tried launching it from different browsers, but still no dice :(
