I'm mingcheng (明城), an open-source practitioner originally from Ningbo and now based in Hangzhou, China.
I work as an Open-Source Evangelist at Ant Group and serve on a Project Management Committee (PMC) within the Apache Software Foundation. My work brings together software development, community building, and the long-term stewardship of open-source projects.
Before joining Ant Group, I worked at NetEase as a technical expert and engineering manager. As a systems architect, I was responsible for advancing cloud-native technologies and shaping the team's technical direction.
My current contributions span AI, cloud-native infrastructure, and developer communities:
- InclusionAI — GitHub · Hugging Face
- AReaL — PyTorch Foundation Landscape Project
- Dragonfly — CNCF graduated project
- Apache Geaflow — Apache incubating project
- Apache Answer — Apache top-level project
I focus on AI agents and infrastructure, with a particular interest in turning emerging technologies into dependable systems. For me, good engineering extends beyond implementation: it also depends on clear design, reliable automation, and communities that can sustain the work over time.
FreeBSD remains my system of choice, with macOS and Linux also part of my daily work. I favor Debian for production and container environments and Kalpa Desktop for desktop use, reflecting my broader interest in practical, maintainable systems and atomic Linux.
