Automated review by review (OpenAI)
Reviewed commit: 93655b8
No actionable bugs found in this documentation-only change. The direction is sound: centralizing the own-range fallback in SessionError::to_code covers shared IETF close paths without duplicating guards, and carrying the accept-time activity guard into the WebSocket handler addresses the pre-handler drain gap while explicitly bounding plain HTTP and later keep-alive upgrades.
Verification: inspected all three changed files and the surrounding error mapping, listener, WebSocket, and shutdown code. No builds or tests were run; the proposed fixes and regression tests are not implemented by this PR. Rechecked open/non-draft state, head, and existing reviews immediately before submission.

Keep MoQT filtering out of the shared code encoder
If this plan is implemented, changing the protocol-independent SessionError::to_code() will also rewrite received Lite errors outside the MoQT send path. For example, MoqProtocolError::from_session in rs/moq-ffi/src/error.rs and from_session in rs/moq-c/src/error.rs use this method for their documented verbatim code, so a Lite peer's unknown own-range code such as 0x31 would be exposed to every binding as 0x1. Put this filtering in the IETF session-code encoder and route the direct IETF close sites through it, or account for the wider public API and binding change rather than describing it as MoQT-only.

Agreed, fixed in ae26ba3. The quest now filters own-range codes in the IETF session-code encoder (mirroring lite::error::to_session_code), routes Version::session_code and the direct IETF close sites through it, and leaves SessionError::to_code untouched so moq-ffi and moq-c keep exposing received codes verbatim. The recorded decision states this reason, and the test list checks to_code() is unchanged.

WalkthroughAdds two quest documents and links them from the quest index. One document describes a proposed mapping for MoQT session-close codes. The other describes proposed relay drain accounting for public web connections. These are plans; the changes do not implement either behavior. Priority: ⬇️ Low Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to The PR adds plans rather than runtime changes, but their statements should accurately describe the close-code change and the h2 drain exception before the plans guide implementation. Merge summary for ae26ba3:

Problem
Two follow-ups from this run need durable scope: MoQT closes can carry moq-lite own-range session codes (0x30-0x3f), and a relay drain can exit under a WebSocket client still in TLS or header parsing (the Codex follow-up on #5286).
Approach
Plans two m1 quests with the maintainer's decisions recorded:
quest/m1/own-range-bridge.md[XS]: a MoQT close never carries an own-range code. Filter it in the IETF session-code encoder and route every IETF close site through it, Rust only.quest/m1/drain-web-accept.md[S]: on HTTP/1.1, a relay drain counts web connections from TCP accept, releasing at the first non-upgrade request's headers. h2 releases at ALPN.The
--all-featuresdmabuf break needs no quest: #5340 fixes it.Decisions

None beyond the two quests.
