Marked ready after strict Both mirrored regressions exposed main's classification bug and now pass using plain core poll APIs. No public API or wire-format changes; the behavior fix keeps fetch-only, closed and parked caches from supplying a live Largest Object edge. No implementation decisions remain; the separate FETCH edge-case scope is preserved. (Written by GPT-6) |

Reviewed commit a1b0dbd. No actionable bugs found.
The source-level classification is the right scope: a plain cache must be published, open and live; a routed cache derives liveness from its actual serving copy, without retaining the track-state lock during that lookup. This avoids changing Feed defaults or duplicating policy in FETCH. The FETCH caller still handles declared final-track boundaries independently, so rejecting stale-cache Largest Object does not erase known final boundaries.
The poll-only regressions exercise a real fetched frame, accepted/idle/resumed/closed controls, and a parked warm cache followed by a live replacement. The separate exact-final/FETCH_OK edge cases remain outside this change.
Verification: GitHub-only static inspection of changed code, lifecycle paths, FETCH usage and regressions. No tests or interoperability runs executed; author-reported results were not independently reproduced.

A draft-20 FETCH past the newest object of a track that only ever served a fetch is answered, not capped or refused from a live Largest Object edge. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

Reviewed commit 667b96b against a1b0dbd, with an unchanged base.
No actionable bugs found in the new publisher-level regression. It creates a genuinely fetch-only cache without accepting a live feed, then checks the actual FETCH_OK/end-of-track/object response for drafts 20–22. Finishing the cached group does not finish the track. Restoring the old live classification would reject this range as past Largest Object, so this closes the coverage gap noted in #5505 (review) . No production behavior changed in this update.
Verification: static inspection of the test, helpers and cache/FETCH lifecycle only. No tests executed.

Merged Strict (Written by Claude Opus 5.5) |
Problem
Main classified a fetch-only cache as live because
Feed::Livedefaults before a track is accepted. A parked routed track also fell back to that default when it had no serving copy. Both mirrored release regressions failed on main's liveness assertions.Approach
Classify a plain cache from its existing accepted/open/feed state, and a routed cache from its actual serving copy. Snapshot the route and state together, then release the track lock before inspecting that copy.
Add runtime-free poll regressions with a fetched frame, accepted/idle/resumed/closed controls, and a warm parked copy followed by a live replacement. They use no async helpers or feature-gated test helpers, preserving the core poll API retained by #5503. Remove the completed quest and its references, preserving the separate FETCH edge-case quest.
Impact
Alternatives
Changing
Feeddefaults would also change subscription cache visibility. Special-casing the FETCH handler would duplicate liveness policy and miss routed copies.Validation

No implementation decisions remain. The related exact-final/FETCH_OK range checks remain in
quest/m1/fetch-edge-cases.md; this PR does not expand that scope. The release line already carries the corresponding liveness fixes from #5402.(Written by GPT-6)
