Review comments at @quest/m1/partial-group-reset.md:
- Around line 24-25: Update the Goal and Plan sections to consistently specify
whether expired-group resets apply to local readers: state the required `Old`
outcome in the Goal, and make the Plan record the current implementation status
without leaving the policy open. Ensure Rust and JavaScript behavior follows the
same policy.
- Around line 13-14: Update the serving-path paragraph to describe expiry
returning Old and resetting the stream, with the receiving relay aborting its
local group rather than storing a truncated group as finished. Keep the
regression test focused on Old and verifying that no finished downstream group
is created.
Review comments at @quest/m1/README.md:
- Line 86: Clarify the local-reader behavior for a subscription group that
expires mid-group in the README bullet and the linked partial-group-reset quest:
state whether the required Old reset applies only when a serving publisher
reports truncation, or specify a consistent local-reader reset policy in both
documents.
Review comments at @quest/m1/ts-reliability/hole-budget.md:
- Line 6: Clarify the hole-budget specification by defining when wall-clock
timing starts, which PTS values anchor age calculations, and one normative
expiration threshold; specify the resulting timeout behavior for a paused-track
break marker so Rust and JavaScript consumers can implement the same rule.
Review comments at @quest/m2/container-aspect.md:
- Line 18: Update the square-ratio handling described in the container-aspect
rules so it distinguishes `pasp` from Matroska `DisplayWidth`/`DisplayHeight`:
preserve the coded-frame display aspect when `pasp` is 1:1, but treat equal
Matroska display dimensions as a 1:1 display aspect. Add tests covering
1440×1080 video with each metadata case.

Adds the js/net IETF dead-route quest from #5700, pins the hole budget's anchors, maps pasp and Matroska display size to the display aspect separately, and cites the publisher path that finishes an expired group. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
moq-net gets the Rust equivalent of JS request(path, { announced: true }),
so moq-ffi and moq-c drop their follow loops. The sink restart follow
builds on it.

Cover one-sided Matroska display defaults
When DisplayUnit is 0 and exactly one of DisplayWidth or DisplayHeight is present, the file is valid and the missing field independently defaults to its cropped pixel dimension. The listed regressions cover only both fields present or both absent, so an implementation that defaults only the pair can pass while rejecting or mis-sizing these files; add a one-sided-field case, preferably with cropping to verify the correct default.

Summary
Plans thirteen quests from the follow-ups of the Oct 17 merge run.
m1:
quest/m1/partial-group-reset.md[S]: every reader, local or served, getsOldwhen an unfinished subscription group expires, so no relay caches the prefix as complete (Enforce fetch age budgets #5680).quest/m1/legacy-request-timeout-cleanup.md[S]: on drafts 14-16, Rust and JS send PUBLISH_NAMESPACE_DONE (and UNSUBSCRIBE_NAMESPACE on drafts 14-15) for a timed-out request before its local reset (fix(net): give requests one fatal create-to-answer deadline #5741).quest/m1/http-dial-crypto-provider.md[XS]: thehttp://certificate fetch installs a rustls provider first instead of panicking (feat(ffi): report the session's negotiated version and reconnect failure for OBS #5723).quest/m1/ffi-first-dial-failure.md[S]: moq-ffi reports why a first dial keeps failing, so OBS stops showing a bare "Connecting…" (feat(ffi): report the session's negotiated version and reconnect failure for OBS #5723).quest/m1/net-announced-follow.md[M]: moq-net gets the Rust equivalent of JSrequest(path, { announced: true }), so moq-ffi'savailable()and moq-c'smoq_origin_announced_broadcastdrop the follow loops Follow epochless restarts in exports and bindings #5700 added. Ranked just above the sink and OBS restart-follow quests; the sink quest now requires it, and the OBS quest does not, sinceavailable()keeps its API (Follow epochless restarts in exports and bindings #5700).quest/m1/ts-reliability/hole-budget.md[S]: a sequence hole gives up on max(wall, pts), so a break marker behind it on a paused track is delivered (feat(mux)!: mark a data track's break with an object of no bytes #5815).m2:
quest/m2/cpp-free-function-prefix.md[S]: generated C++ free functions dropmoq_, andmoq.hppdeletes its five pass-through wrappers (feat(cpp)!: generate unprefixed names and one moq::expected #5727).quest/m2/error-cleanups.md[XS]: delete the unusedmoq_net::Error::SessionClosed; Rust and JS both reset a served stream over a raw transport failure or idle timeout withUnroutable(fix(net): consumers see the source's real error, never Dropped #5729).quest/m2/probe-end-stale.md[S]: the Rust receive estimate reads unknown once its PROBE stream ends (fix(net): request PROBE only while consumers are held #5777).quest/m2/container-aspect.md[S]: fMP4paspand Matroska display size feed the catalog display aspect (fix(mux): populate display aspect across known-SPS importers #5755).quest/m2/js-ietf-dead-route-error.md[XS]: a JS subscription on a dead moq-transport session ends with the session error, as in Rust, instead ofunauthorized: <broadcast>(Follow epochless restarts in exports and bindings #5700).quest/m2/obs-qlog.md[XS]: a CMake option builds moq-ffi with--features qlogfor OBS (feat(ffi, obs): client settings parity for OBS #5726).quest/m2/e2ee/dynamic-names.md[M]: a design-only quest, gated on maintainer review, comparing SIV names, a name-directory track and encrypted semantic names in requests for undeclared e2ee track names. The e2ee epic README links it and records that feat(e2ee)!: name tracks semantically through broadcast wrappers #5876 is held until it decides. Each is ranked in its milestone or epic README. No public API or wire changes; quest files only.
Decisions
Settled with the maintainer on 2026-10-17:
Prompt 11 reversed prompt 10: mixing a paused runtime with the FFI runtime is a test-setup error, and #5803 already fixed it by running that test unpaused.
Notes from fact-checking
Requiredquest links, so their quest deletions stay clean. The PROBE quest's gap survives fix(net): request PROBE only while consumers are held #5777: the stream's end still leaves the estimate set.StreamError::from(&Error)sendsTransportandIdleTimeouttoInternal, like JS; only fix(net): consumers see the source's real error, never Dropped #5729's unmerged head maps them toUnroutable. Error cleanups now covers both languages instead of claiming Rust parity.MOQ_LOCAL,cpp/obsfetches a published default-featuremoq-cpparchive, so the qlog option fails configuration there as well as withMOQ_FFI_DIR.DisplayUnit1 to 3 still give a display ratio, and with unit 0 absent display fields default to the cropped pixel size, so container-aspect now covers crop and physical units, and a non-pixel unit without display fields fails as malformed.Validation
