quest: import the multi-object datagram and redundant-switch issues - #6887
Plan #6885 as m1/datagram-object-drop (a hop or reader that
cannot carry an Object ID delivers only object 0) and #6877 as
m1/ts-reliability/epoch-switch-drain (a stitched switch keeps playing the
old instance until the new clock is acquired).
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
No actionable findings in this plans-only change. The direction is appropriately narrow: drop nonzero Object IDs only where identity cannot survive, preserving relay passthrough; keep the retiring epoch feeding output while the replacement acquires its clock rather than introducing another routing policy. Both target the current behavior confirmed in the referenced Rust code, and JS already filters nonzero datagram Object IDs.
Checked all four changed files, both source issues, the Rust datagram paths, TS follower/export/jitter machinery, and the existing failover test. The described runtime bugs are still planned work, not fixed here. No earlier submitted review findings to reconcile; the independent Codex check also reports no findings. Static review only; no builds or runtime tests run.

Walkthrough
The PR adds quest documentation for datagram Object ID handling and stitched TS epoch switching. The datagram note specifies preserving Object IDs where supported and dropping later objects where they cannot be carried. The TS note specifies continuing the old epoch’s output until the new epoch acquires its clock, then switching with program-change signaling. Both quests are added to their respective Required lists.

This change only adds planning notes, so nothing runs differently after merge. A few statements in the notes are inaccurate or contradict the stated design, and could mislead whoever implements these quests. Correct them before or soon after merging; none of them blocks the merge.

Explanation
Issue #6877 has coding requirements for epoch-switch draining, retained old-epoch output until the new clock is acquired, an integration assertion for no gap on a healthy-leg switch, and related documentation. The reviewed changes add only the quest document. They do not change Export::followed, add the integration assertion, or update the runtime documentation. The repository diff was unavailable, so this conclusion uses the supplied change summary and the reviewed quest file.
Resolution
Implement the selected follower behavior in rs/moq-mux/src/container/ts/export.rs. Keep the old subscription active until the new jitter generation acquires its clock, within --follow. Add the healthy-leg no-gap integration assertion and the required redundancy and CLI documentation updates.

The listed tests cover the drop cases but do not explicitly verify the retained IETF passthrough path from lines 23-28. Add a test that preserves Object IDs 1 and 2 across an IETF-capable hop.
As per coding guidelines: tests must cover useful edge cases and provide long-term regression value.

The plan limits old-generation output to the --follow window, but the existing stitched follower can continue replacement catalog acquisition beyond that window. Define whether acquisition also expires and state the expected output in either case.

CodeRabbit datagram-object-drop.md:12: fixed. Nothing on the receiving side keeps one datagram per sequence; the Goal now says the plain Rust reader hands out every object at one sequence, so a lost or late object 0 lets object 1 stand in. Also renamed the surface to Subscription::serve_datagram, where the status skip lives.
CodeRabbit epoch-switch-drain.md:50: fixed. The Closes line no longer lists the declined standby-epoch ask as delivered.

quest/m1/datagram-object-drop.md[S] for moq-relay silently drops datagram objects after object 0 in a group (moq-transport publisher) #6885: a lite hop without theietfextension, and the plain Rust datagram reader, deliver only object 0 of a moq-transport datagram group.
