I needed to be able to add text comments with my grades, and also wanted to use Canvas student IDs rather than SIS ids. This patch accomplishes that. I think I preserved the original API: this should be a straight new features. Documentation should probably be updated.
Thanks for writing this. It just saved my bacon at the 11th hour. Worked like a charm for me.
