This update changes the accelerator variant, not just the Torch version. In backend/python/rerankers/requirements-hipblas.txt it replaces the ROCm build with torch==2.14.1+xpu while retaining the ROCm index. The CUDA and MPS profiles also now explicitly require the Intel XPU build. installRequirements in backend/python/common/libbackend.sh installs these profile files directly; it does not translate +xpu back to the selected accelerator. An XPU pin therefore cannot preserve CUDA/ROCm/MPS support, and the existing profile indexes do not make it a platform-neutral requirement.
Please keep accelerator-specific pins/indexes for each profile and validate the dependency installation and device selection on the affected platforms. PyTorch's separate Intel GPU installation instructions: https://docs.pytorch.org/docs/2.14/notes/get_start_xpu.html .
This is a source/configuration review of the complete diff and shared installer; I did not execute a dependency solve or model inference here. The affected backend checks are red, but I am not attributing their individual failures without accessible logs. @mudler @richiejp: please hold this update until the profile variants are corrected.
