I’m usually involved from understanding the workflow, shaping the system behavior, documenting how it should be used, and supporting it after deployment. I keep learning from real operational systems, especially the parts where code, people, process, and production constraints meet.
The hardest bugs are not always in the code. Sometimes they live quietly in the workflow, waiting for someone to say:
“But we usually do it like this.”
And somehow, that “usual process” has 12 hidden exceptions, 3 undocumented rules, and one person who just knows how it works.
